Close to the wine capital of Argentina, surrounded by vineyards, you’ll find the intimate village of Chacras de Coria. It is a peaceful hamlet where tranquility is only disturbed by the dogs guarding the villa’s of Argentina’s upper class who have made Chacras their home.

Chacras is less than an hour’s drive from Mendoza and almost kisses the feet of the mighty Andes. The air is crisp, the skies usually clear and the soil is rich. In other words, perfect conditions for grapes to enjoy themselves, grow, be harvested and get turned into wine.

The village is an excellent place to discover the taste of all the different wines coming from the Mendoza area. Chacras boasts many fine restaurants and hotels, one of them being the boutique Posada Borravino. Here wine, design and hospitality are all that count. The posada has only four rooms. Breakfast is either served next to the pool or in the tasting room. Dinner is something you have to enjoy at one of the many restaurants within walking distance, but wine of course is sold by the glass, bottle or case.

Staff and atmosphere in Borravino are as relaxed as in the rest of Chacras de Coria, making this the place to chill-out after a long and prosperous journey through Argentina as well as an excellent stop to recharge your batteries before conquering the Andes on your way into Chile or simply all you wished for when dreaming of a boutique posada where you can unwind, read a book and drink a glass (or two) of Argentina’s top wines.
